Plzen and Berlin

Now finally I get around to sending you my Pilsen (or Plzen) report.

After we left Rumania at 4 in the morning we arrived once more in Budapest where I spent most of the day at the Danube until our train left in the evening. Even though we though that Rumania was already pretty intense we found that it was nothing compared to Pilsen. We worked with Teen Challenge (www.teenchallange.com), a Christian organization working with drug addicts. We prepared a short program for their teahouse they have a few times a week. Mostly drug addicts and homeless people come there to warm up and get something to eat. Next to that we where in a prison, in the rehabilitation house of TC, in a juvenile delinquency center and we invited people to the discussion groups we also participated in.

All that with the preparation for each of those things filled almost every day of the two weeks we where there. But I still managed to buy new shoes and go and look at Prague. Prague is a very beautiful city – with a bit to many tourists. We heard more English and German there than Czech. After the time in Pilsen we traveled to Berlin and are enjoying our time here in a cool youth hostel (www.hostel-berlin.de).

Most of the time we don't have a set program so we can enjoy the city and relax from Pilsen.

Coming Saturday we'll already be heading back to Altensteig. That will be our last and longest trip – for the sake of keeping the costs down we'll be going on a 15 hour journey through Germany in packed trains. In Altensteig we then have a debriefing week and then everything is over already.

I'm actually looking forward though to getting back home even though I really enjoyed my time on outreach.
