Only 3 more weeks DTS

Just a short update on what is happening. We're not going to South Africa anymore but to Eastern Europe - see Heathers letter below. We'll probably visit, Hungary, Rumania, Czech Republic, Poland and also Germany working with orphanages and a refugee camp and we're going to teach college students English. I'm really glad that we're going as one whole team and wont split up.
Other things that happened: My younger sister got engaged last weekend.

We now have 1.5 mbit DSL connection in MV! Yeahhh!!!I spent 3 hours setting it up and now we have a FAAAAAST connection!

In the school we're getting to the point, where there is Informationoverload. It still is really good and exiting though.

I finished programming our webpage now... just needs to be filled with content www.dts2001.de .

That's it from Altensteig

Greetings

I am writing this letter on behalf of Andy because what has happened is nothing to do with him but the fault lays with my leadership of the outreach process. Andy has already communicated with you that hewill be going to South Africa from January - March '02. There has been a change which I can explain briefly to you

This is the first time that I have lead a DTS by myself. I have a great staff and have leaned on them in many areas and they have risen to carry many responsibilities. One of these areas was preparing for the outreach. I was insecure about how to do it so gave it away to one of my staff without knowing what I, as the leader, wanted this part of the school to look like.I realized my mistake last week and have asked the forgiveness of thestudents. I have now clearly defined what I feel an outreach needs to be like for this kind of DTS and I have made some decisions based on this.

One of the key factors was in the area of leadership for the outreach phase. I was not able to see that our staff was going to be able to lead 2 teams. I made the decision that we need to be one team. I feel that we will have adequate leadership this way.

As one team we needed to fit the criteria for location for outreach. I felt that my contact with South Africa was too precious to rush into. I want to visit myself before I take a team, so that I can adequately prepare a team. During the course of this particular school we have heard an emphasis from God towards the nation of Germany and Europe. For many reasons then we have decided that we will stay on this continent. We will most likely spend morethan half of the 10 weeks in Eastern European countries, and the remainder in Germany.

I hope this letter adequately communicates my/our process and why thechanges. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

I want to thank you for standing by Andy as he does this DTS. I am impressed with how God is at work in us.

May God bless you
Sincerely
Heather Dodson
