From the world city Kuala Lumpur to the small Swiss village Burtigny. That's how you could describe my last few weeks in a nutshell. I had a really great time in Malaysia - at the conference in Kuala Lumpur I tapped into the areas of Stage-design and Lighting a bit which was pretty challenging at times. The Malays don't quite think like the Germans - a bulb burning out does not automatically mean it will be replaced. The youth event was really cool - I didn't just take part in it but was invited into the organization team as well. To give you a broad overview of my time there: I got to know a bunch of people and had great fun with them, I enjoyed the 5* Hotel and the diverse food (there was a selection of Malaysian, Indian, Chinese, Indonesian, Thai food etc. available in the mall attached to our hotel). After the conference I had another 10 days in which I went up to Penang (see image below). I stayed at the YWAM base there and spent most of my time playing Settlers of Catan, watching movies, eating, talking or just relaxing. I even made a 2 day trip to Hat Yai in Thailand. You can't see much of a country in two days, but I really liked what I saw which was mostly the city. The trip back from Malaysia to Switzerland was a bit stress filled though because I basically was travelling for 3 days with hardly any real sleep. And now I'm already in the midst of my next course (Advances Principles of Communication) in Burtigny where I will be the next 3 months.
