One week without internet, two disjointed tows and some other injuries to my right foot later I finally take up comunication again. The past few weeks where really intense but I had tons of fun. I even had fun playing tough rugby - until one of the players decided to fall on my foot - so I ended up in hospital and with crutches for a week.
We have a pretty full scedule:
- 9 am - 12:30 pm class
- between 2 pm and 5 pm
- Workduties: everyone has one or the other task to keep the building clean and in shape or to help the school leaders with some administrative tasks
- Community work: we help the city of Altensteig with their gardening
- Life skills: we could decide at the beginning of our course to learn something like cooking indian food, first aid, budgeting, car-maintanace, basics of design, playing the guitar or drums, ect. once a week
- Homework
- 1on1s: Every week the students meet with a staff member to talk about the things they learned, personal stuff or just to ask questions about things we haven't understood
- In the evening we have another 1.5 hours of class and the rest of the day is for us to waste.
- Every saturday we have a creative time in the mornings where we do something else every time (from painting to acting or a photo safari) and then we have a lovefeast every saturday evening where a part of the school prepares a fabulous meal for the rest.
- Sunday finaly is the day of rest (or should be)
Right now we are figuring out where our 3 month outreach will be going to. We are looking at Europe and Africa as options. I don't have a clue where I want to go / should be going to and it would be cool if you could pray for me on this issue.
The next thing we'll be doing is a one week outreach to Amsterdam from November 04 until November 11. I'm really looking forward to that.
