And some more pictures

And this is how she looks in week 22:

It’s been really exciting feeling the baby move already. Must be a weird feeling having something fluttering around inside of you - I guess putting my hand on Rachael’s tummy is the only way i will ever be able to relate to that.

So now that we know the sex of the baby I am more willing to look for names - not in the least more successful at it - but willingness counts right? I had no idea there where so many names out there and trying to satisfy the requirements we have will be a tough one. It has to work in English, German and French, have a cool meaning and sound somewhat acceptable with our last name. Iwana van der Gugten sure doesn’t meet that last requirement so it was banned from the list very early on. Next to being slightly overwhelming, looking for names is quite fun… seeing how it will sound and imagining the personality of this little girl. I have also heard of people changing their minds on the name right after the baby is born just because it doesn’t really match the little thing they are holding in their arms. I guess we will see how our experience with naming a human being will work out in a couple of months.

Well unlike the sex of the baby, the name will remain a secret (as much as that is possible) so you’ll have to wait a couple of months… which will give me a bit more time to make up my mind as well.

We found a very cool website the other day which visualizes the most popular baby names from the 1880s until today (I guess mainly in the US)... it’s quite fun even if you are not expecting at the moment: http://babynamewizard.com/namevoyager/lnv0105.html. You can check out how popular your or your parents, friends, etc. names have been over the last 125+ years.

I’ll do my best to keep the name a secret…its the least I can do to give you all a bit of a suprise when she’s born raspberry I have to say though that I agree with Andy on the naming thing…its amazing to think that whatever name we pick for our child all of you and God will be calling that child that name forever…quite a responsibility…

I wonder what she will be like and what name will suit her most…I wonder how names affect a person and what it would be like if i was named something different…hmmmm…lots to think about…
